Randy Ellefson - Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid (2007)

Randy Ellefson - Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid (2007)Guitarosity Records

Here is the second solo CD by Randy Ellefson (all guitars) who was supported by two musicians: Jeff Moos (drums; Mercury Rising) and a bassist Dave DeMarco who graduated from Berklee College of Music and Peabody Preparatory.

My first impression is that "Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid" includes equally joyful and congenial, but more vivid and heavier music than on the debut. I think that it's a positive impact of new instrumentalists on the final shape of Randy's music that is also more dynamic and rhythmical. His finger flexibility is still astonishing and it is especially audible in extremely melodic solos. They can be smoothly hummed what makes his music very accessible. Moreover, all riffs are rockish and faultlessly harmonize with melodic solos.

One of the most important Randy's accomplishments is his recognizable and distinguishing style and his happiness after defeating the disease that I can sense within the music. You can be experienced by bad fortune, and you are able to laught at it simultaneously, and show your power and optimism in your musical art. It is still an ambitious instrumental rock music with modern sound, and its composer is the winner of the life as well! Many thanks for your plain music and your positive life attitude which can be inspiring for many people, Dear Randy!
